I was born on the Southside of Chicago (Little Company of Mary Hospital/Beverly) but raised in the Western Suburbs of Chicago (Oak Brook) as the youngest of eight children by Mildred and Richard Remijas. I am so proud to have lived and been educated, in more ways than just school, in the great state of Illinois and the fantastic city of Chicago. I am gratefully married to my wife of 28 years and enjoy spending as much time as we can with our three children living in the Chicago area. Attending church, heading to great vacation spots, Sunday dinner, and spending time at the lake are some of the ways our family comes together when our work lives allow.
It has been my honor and pleasure to represent so many people throughout my 30+ year legal career, which started with appearing in court the day after I was sworn in on November 10, 1994. Representing injured persons of all ages and successfully participating in tens of millions in recoveries remains a true passion and the focus of my practice. Unlike the billboards advertising “millions” or even “billions” recovered by law firms that have never seen the inside of a courtroom and who merely take a name to pass on to other attorneys, I deal with clients on a personal, one-to-one basis in order to truly understand their needs and damages. As an attorney, I cannot undo the negligent actions of individuals or corporations that have hurt my clients, but I can and do put all of my energy, experience, and resources into their claims to maximize the possible recovery.
I am a competitor, from playing football, basketball, and lacrosse at the high school level to continuing my love of sports watching the Bulls and Blackhawks win championships in person. Today, I continue to compete in ultimate frisbee tournaments and weekly pickup games with a team of local players, and I enjoy golf, racquet sports, and skiing whenever time allows. The speed and flexibility may not be the same, but the only way to know for sure is to lace the cleats up and get out there. My downtime is spent reading (I love the local library!) and watching historical and war movies and documentaries.
